How THE KING of TRIAL Was Born: Bulgarian Trial and Euro Trial, what is in common?

ree

Trial competitions in Bulgaria have always been a challenge – both for the competitors and the organizers. For many years, the idea of a competition that would elevate this sport to a new level existed, but the right team and the perfect location seemed to be missing. This changed in 2024 when a group of friends discovered the ideal spot – a natural amphitheater designed for extreme sports. It was there that THE KING of TRIAL was born.

From Idea to Reality

A key moment in the development of the competition was the choice of name. The inspiration came from one of the most prestigious 4x4 events in the world – King of the Hammers, the suggestion came from Kaloyan Naydenov. Along with the rest of the team – Metodi Todorov, Ivan Ivanov, Teodor Petrov, Dimitar Tsvetanov, and with the support of Yordan Fotev and Denislav Dimitrov – THE KING of TRIAL was successfully organized for the first time with incredible success.

The First Edition – New Standards in Bulgarian TRIAL

In its first year, THE KING of TRIAL attracted 38 participants – an impressive number for a pure trial event in Bulgaria. For the first time in the country, the rules from the European Trial Championship were successfully adapted almost entirely, which sparked great interest among both competitors and spectators. The well-structured course, high level of organization, and unique terrain made the event one of the best in the country.

The major successes did not go unnoticed. Sponsors and partners such as RED BULL Bulgaria, Lebedka.bg, Monbat Group, Auto Hit, and many others supported and reaffirmed their trust in the event. THE KING of TRIAL became more than just a competition – it turned into a project with a future and immense potential.

Bulgaria on the Road to the 2027 European Trial Championship

One of the key moments following the success of the first edition was the opportunity for Bulgaria to host the European Trial Championship in 2027. Kaloyan Naydenov, as part of the NAYD AUTO RACING team – the only Bulgarian team to have participated in Euro Trial in Slovakia in 2022 – secured a quota to organize the championship in Bulgaria. This marked the beginning of an ambitious project, led by Yordan Fotev, Denislav Dimitrov, and Tsvetan Naydenov, who have been tirelessly working over the past three years to make Bulgaria a historic host of the European Trial Championship.

With each new edition, THE KING of TRIAL continues to grow in popularity, and the preparations for Euro Trial 2027are already in full swing. Stay tuned for more news about the upcoming hosting and the development of Bulgarian trial in our future blogs!
